How do you make Raclette? Way 2:

How do you make Raclette? Way 1:
Raclette is melted cheese like Fondue, but they are not made in the same way. You eat the Raclette with a potato. There are two ways to do it. The first way is the older one - you buy a half of a big cheese log. Then you put it on a hot surface and when it melts you scrape it onto a plate with a knife.
The other way is the most recent one - you put a piece of cheese on a surface similar to a small stove. You put the small stove on mashing which has a special hot surface inside of it. When it melts, it’s done!
Fondue is melted cheese in a pan. You eat it with bread and a long fork. When you eat it you take a piece of bread, put it on the fork and dip it in the melted cheese.

Fondue and Raclette history:
At first, the cheese was only found in the “Alpes” and “Pre-Alpes”. When the cheese started to appear in a cheese shop in a village, farmers began to deliver their milk. Because of this, the cheese became famous everywhere.
Fondue was only invented in 1699, and Raclette was invented in 1885. These two traditions only became popular in 1950.
The general history
Switzerland was founded on August 1, 1129. Switzerland is currently divided into 26 "cantons" (or states), the first of which was founded along with Switzerland (Bern) and the most recent in 1979 (Jura). Each canton came to be over the years.
It is not part of the European Union but it is between France, Austria, Germany and Italy.
We speak four languages in Switzerland: mainly German (64%), the French (20%), Italian (6%), and a little bit Romansh and patois (less than 1%).
