Ricotta Cookies
Date-Nut Bread

Ricotta Cookies are a delicious Italian specialty that have been a tradition in my family for generations. Every year, we go to my aunt’s house on Christmas Eve for a family gathering. My aunt is an exquisite baker; she makes countless different desserts just for the night of Christmas Eve. Ricotta Cookies have been among her selection for as long as I can remember. Although all of the desserts are delicious, there is a special place in my heart for Ricotta Cookies. Once you taste just one, you will know why!
Date-Nut Bread is a traditional Italian bread that can be consumed with breakfast or dessert. Our family recipe comes from my father’s Nana Massaro. In Italy, people typically bake Date-Nut Bread on holidays, such as on Christmas morning. A tradition in my house that my dad started is making Date-Nut Bread on the morning of Thanksgiving. Ever since my sister and I were little, we would always look forward to Thanksgiving morning just because of Date-Nut Bread!
